Ireson: Translation not required

The extensive offerings of (jazz) music at the esplanade this month seemed to be dedicating it's grand final to what Singapore has to offer in Latin Music. Friday night’s interlude of this highlight was Ireson, Mexico born, raised and married couple Alina Ramirez and Mario Lopez’ band,

fronted by Carlos Sendros

and backed by Singapore's own Robert Nalin.
They offered a close look at the beauty of contemporary Latin compositions.

I am always impressed by the music of the band members’ own, especially, if I may say, by Mario’s, who's tunes, in spite of my unfamiliarity with the genre, always seems to excite my well-exposed music appreciation nerve. Good music clearly doesn't only mean recognizable.
The tunes were mostly instrumental which, did not allow for Carlos to enchant us with his lovely singing voice too often.

There was enough room for him to solo on his acoustic as well as his electric guitar though.

Robert, the only one in the band who does not speak Spanish, did not seem to be handicapped by that all.

Well exposed to all types of rhythms he was perfectly communicating with the other members. Topping all that up with swinging piano licks and likes by Alina and a perfect tropical Latin night is complete.
