Singapore Night Live top 30

A nice thing about the blogger.com website is that it provides a bit of statistics. Because my blog always has specific people as focus, it is possible for me to look at it as people's "popularity rating".

SA Trio

Next to that there is of course the satisfaction of people actually looking at your work.

So sharing these statistics with you is a bit of advertisement for the subjects and a massive act of self-satisfaction on my part.

And although my amazing wife is always highly complimentary of what I am doing and many of the "subjects" have provided me with compliments and praise,

at a personal level there is no greater feat then to overcome your modesty and show the world what you think is a job very well done.

This is a milestone post for this blog. What started with a simple 500D camera and one of my favorite performers the late great Atwell Jansen

grew out to a spending of well over 10k, which was necessary to challenge the poor lighting in most of the places I frequent.

My first post was on 4/13/13 and this is my milestone 100. At this point this blog has seen over 25800 visitors and with it, I am giving an overview of what are the 30 most popular ones. It is my hope that this blog has contributed, if only a little bit, to the popularity of all featured. I can say that it definitely added to mine!

If I bring my camera that is! I am just kidding! Camera or not, my wife and I have been warmly admitted to this beautiful family of musicians that we got to know within and outside of the Jazz genre!

My admiration goes out to each and everyone of them, for the hours of practice that they needed, to become, firstly in their own eyes, good enough to stand and play in front of  an audience, or to play for hours on end for a group of zombies that are really not at all interested!

I inserted photo's in my text of people that did not make it to the top 30. Although out of 100, you cannot all be in the top 30, I am disappointed that some did not make it.

My analysis; it is genre related. It has nothing to do with how good the singer or musician is/are. And when I say genre related it could very well be, that those that are fans of the underrepresented genre, are simply not interested in my babble and blurs.

I personally am very pleased with my number one and with the bands that are represented in the top 5 as well as multiple times in this entire post. I like them very much...very much!
